The Corporate Relations team connects companies with UMBC resources both on and off campus.

Through bwtech@UMBC, corporate partners have access to dozens of innovative early-stage science and technology companies. In addition, UMBC offers a wide range of credit and non-credit programs designed to meet the diverse needs of today’s business and technology professionals.

Research and Technology Park

UMBC’s 41-acre research and technology community (bwtech@UMBC) is comprised of a 5-building Class A Research Park and technology and bioscience business incubators. Both Research Park and Incubator companies have access to campus amenities (such as day care, fitness facilities, etc), professional training programs, research facilities and equipment, and UMBC’s highly skilled students, graduates and research faculty.

bwtech@UMBC is an ideal location for both established and early-stage science and technology companies. Allegis, U.S. Geological Survey, RMF Engineering, Convergent Technologies Incorporated, Ross Technologies, and Assured Information Security are a few of the companies located here.

The campus also houses the Cyber Incubator, Northrop Grumman Cync Program, and CyberHive, which are part of the growing community of nearly 50 cybersecurity companies at bwtech@UMBC.

Continuing Education and Executive Training

The Graduate School at UMBC

UMBC’s Graduate School offers 40 master’s degree programs, 24 doctoral degree programs and 23 graduate certificate programs. Programs are offered in education, engineering, emergency health services, imaging and digital arts, information technology, aging services, life sciences, psychology, public policy, and a host of other fields.

Our graduate students come from 45 states and 55 countries, and go on to illustrious careers in academia, government and business. UMBC is ranked as a Doctoral/Research University (High Research Activity) by the Carnegie Foundation, one of the highest classifications for a research university in the U.S.

Division of Professional Studies

In addition to Masters and Doctoral programs, UMBC offers professional programs and certifications through the Division of Professional Studies, These course are offered online, on our main campus and at the Universities at Shady Grove in Rockville, MD.

UMBC Training Centers

Headquartered in a new facility in Columbia, Maryland, UMBC Training Centers is the premier provider of technical, engineering and professional skills training in the Mid-Atlantic region for individuals, businesses, non-profits and government agencies. Their courses are delivered by expert instructors with deep practical experience and a passion for teaching others. UMBC Training Centers offers both cohort-based (closed) classes and open enrollment classes. Some of their most popular training and certifications are in the fields of Big Data/Data AnalyticsCybersecuritySoftware Development, and Leadership & Innovation.
